“Whether you have the opportunity to paint from life or photo references, painting the figure can be rewarding. Painting from a live model is generally the best way to learn and practice. But due to limited access to models in the past couple of years, I’ve had to learn how to use Photoshop, how to gather photo references and how to avoid the pitfalls of working with photos. I hope to share much of what I’ve learned in this workshop.” - Pamela
Experience Pamela’s approach to painting through presentations, hands-on exercises and practice. Each student will receive individual attention and be encouraged to experiment with techniques they might never have tried.
Learn to loosen up your brushwork and trust your artistic instincts as you develop skills designed to increase your confidence and encourage daily practice habits.
Color mixing, color harmony and composition will be discussed as well as using technology as a tool. We will paint from a live model the first day and on day two and three we will focus on Pamela’s process of gathering and preparing photos to paint from.
Pamela hopes each artist will leave her workshop inspired to continue pursuing their personal artistic growth with a renewed focus on experiencing joy in the journey.
