M.T. Hunt
I have been with Holder Dane Gallery since the Fall of 2012. Pat Bodnyk, the Gallery owner, welcomed me with her warmth and generosity.
I began my career as a cartographer in Houston, Texas in 1978, then moved to the Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex in 2000. As Cartography became digital, I worked for several municipalities setting up their Geographic Information Systems, (GIS), which helped them manage their operations.
As a Cartographer, I have always navigated between the arts and science. Working in this field gave me the opportunity to feed my creative cravings. I am now retired, and split my time painting, gardening, studying French, traveling overseas and the United States when possible, and most important of all - enjoying my life with my husband.
I prefer to create abstract paintings because they free the viewer from the influence of reality which allows the observer to reach their most inner emotions, activating their mind in a unique way that enables their exploration of their own undiscovered emotions. It also introduces the viewer to the unknown and gives them the opportunity to discover their own interpretations and associations.
