Art for me, is like wading into a fast moving stream... the water was there before I existed and will be there long after. While the headwaters of the stream nourish and beckon, the ride itself can be turbulent. I’m hooked!
I specialize in portraits and figure painting, working in oils, watercolor and gouache. In 1995 I wrote and illustrated “My Earthquake Book” as a gift for a friend’s child; she took it to work and subsequently 100,000 copies were distributed in the Los Angeles Unified School District!
While a senior in high school I worked at Filmation Animation as an ink and cel painter and apprentice animator, and began free-lance illustration and portraiture. I have completed more than two dozen portrait commissions and won awards for my oil paintings. I am fortunate to have taken workshops and obtained critiques from such established artists as Peggi Kroll-Roberts, William Schneider and Dan Gerhartz , among others.
What I love about living in Texas is the parade of people - in restaurants, at the beach, at the opera or the rodeo! Every effort I make to express my joy is a tribute to those who have also joined the fast moving stream.
A member in good standing of the Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America and American Impressionist Society (pending Signature Artist Status) I am represented by HOLDER-DANE GALLERY in Grapevine, TX.
